Guests of Arrowtown Motel Apartments have a choice of 12 spacious units ranging in size and budget - from regular OR deluxe studios, to 1 and 2 bedroom apartment-style living. As is typical of most motels in New Zealand, the majority of our units are self-catering - except for two newly built studio's which have tea/coffee making facilities only. The units which have kitchenettes (note: they are not full kitchens) have basic cooking facilites including a 2-plate electric hob, a microwave, electric frying pan, pots, pans, plates, bowls, cutlery and utensils, kettle and toaster. They do not have ovens or grills (or as the Americans' call them - a 'broiler').

STUDIO - QUEEN/SINGLE:
(2 units) These compact 'budget' units have a queen bed and a single bed in the same room as the kitchenette and dining area - price includes 1-2 people - extra adult charge: $25 per night, child charge (12 years and younger): $15 per night. Please note: these units have no sofa (only a chair). Situated on the ground level. No space for extra beds or cots to be brought in.
STUDIO DELUXE - KING/NO KITCHEN:
(2 units) These brand new luxury studio units have a King bed, modern furnishings, a sofa, desk, mini fridge and tea/coffee making facilities - price includes 1-2 people (no children in these units sorry). They have NO KITCHENS. Bathroom has a walk-in shower and vanity. One of these units is wheelchair accessible. Please contact us to book this unit - depends on availability. Private courtyard out the back with outdoor seating.
1-BEDROOM REGULAR - QUEEN/SINGLE:
(2 units) These units consist of a queen bed in the bedroom and a single bed in the living/kitchenette/dining area - price includes 1-2 people - extra adult charge: $25 per night, child charge (12 years and younger): $15 per night. They have a 2-seater couch and a wall-hung flat screen TV. These units are situated up a level (external stairs - no elevator).
1-BEDROOM FAMILY - QUEEN/2 SINGLES:
(2 units) These units consist of a queen bed in the kitchenette/dining/living area and 2 x single beds in the bedroom - price includes 1-4 people. They have a 2-seater couch and a wall-hung flat screen TV. This setup is ideal for families so that parents can stay up whilst the kids are tucked away in bed. This unit is situated on the ground level.
1-BEDROOM SUPERIOR - KING/SINGLE:
(1 unit) This larger unit has a Super King bed in the very spacious bedroom and a king single bed in the living/kitchenette/dining area - price includes 1-2 people - extra adult charge: $25 per night, child charge (12 years and younger): $15 per night. It has a large leather corner couch with a wall-hung flat screen TV. This room is situated up a level (external stairs - no elevator).
2-BEDROOM REGULAR - QUEEN/SINGLE:
(1 unit) This unit has a queen bed in the main bedroom, and 1 x single bed in 2nd bedroom - price includes 1-3 people. It has a comfortable size dining/living/kitchenette area. This unit has 2 couches with a wall-hung flat screen TV and is situated up a level (external stairs - no elevator).
2-BEDROOM FAMILY - QUEEN/QUEEN/SINGLE:
(1 unit) This unit has a queen bed in the 1st bedroom and a queen AND a single bed in the 2nd bedroom - price includes 1-5 people. It has a spacious living area/dining/kitchenette with 2 sofas and 5 dining chairs. This unit is on the ground level.
2-BEDROOM DELUXE APARTMENT - QUEEN/2 X SINGLES:
(1 unit) This brand new apartment has a queen bed in the 1st bedroom and 2 x single beds in the 2nd bedroom - price includes 1-4 people. It has an open plan living area/dining/kitchen area with a 3-seater sofa, a chair, dining table for 4 and full kitchen with full sized fridge, a 4 plate GAS cook top and built-in wall oven, and a dishwasher. It has a private courtyard out the back with outdoor seating and small garden. This unit is on the ground level.
Other on-site facilities include:
- Free off-street parking in our own car-park or equally safe parking on the roadside. Unallocated.
- Guest laundry (extra costs apply)
- Babysitting service (can be arranged on request. Extra costs apply)
- We are lucky enough to have a 'Four Square' convenience store a short walk away (a block). It's also the drop-off and pick-up point for the Connectabus bus to Queenstown and Frankton
- The motel backs onto a reserve so lots of grass for kids to run around
arrival and departure:
- CHECK-IN time is from 2pm
- CHECK-OUT time is 10am
Please note: Late check-outs are difficult for us as we have a very small window in which to turn the rooms around before new guests arrive at 2pm. So please be aware that we may not be able to offer you a late checkout at all (or an early check-in!)
OFFICE HOURS ARE 8 AM TO 6.30 pm (winter MID APRIL - oct) or 7 pm (summer NOV - MID april).

FYI... High season in Arrowtown is from Mid December until end of April - Rooms sell out QUICKLY AND ARE IN HOT DEMAND for this period so please book early to avoid disappointment. IT IS NOT ADVISABLE TO arrive in Arrowtown or Queenstown without a reservation. JUST BECAUSE YOU DO NOT SEE US ON THE ONLINE BOOKING SITES DOESN'T MEAN WE DON'T HAVE AVAILABILITY. CHECK "BOOK NOW" TO CHECK IF WE HAVE ROOMS.
CHRISTMAS PERIOD: WE HAVE A MINIMUM 3 NIGHTS STAY REQUIRED FOR BOOKINGS OVER CHRISTMAS. GUESTS CAN CHECK IN ON 24TH DECEMBER OR EARLIER AND MUST STAY UNTIL 27TH DECEMBER OR LATER. PLEASE CALL US TO BOOK AS THERE ARE CONDITIONS THAT NEED TO BE AGREED UPON BEFORE BOOKING THIS PERIOD.
CANCELLATION AND PAYMENT POLICIES:
- Bookings made directly with us either over the phone or through our website require your credit card details to secure the reservation. We accept Mastercard or Visa online, with Cash and Eftpos payments ON ARRIVAL. We cannot accept Diners Club or American Express.
As you can imagine in our line of business, cancellations affect us significantly so therefore we apply the following strict cancellation policy.
Should you need to cancel a booking made directly with us, please contact us on email@example.com or call us on +64 3 4421833 during office hours.
Bookings are not confirmed until you receive a confirmation email from us.
Cancellations or amendments made anytime UP TO 3 days (72 hours) before your arrival - no costs.
- However cancellations made WITHIN 3 days (72 hrs) of arrival will be charged the first night of your booked stay.
In case of a ‘NO-SHOW’ up to the first 3 nights of the booked stay will be charged.
Block bookings of more than 4 rooms booked at one time will be charged a 50% deposit at the time of booking. NO REFUNDS will be given for cancellations made within 2 weeks of booked date.
- Any amendments to a booking must please be done in writing and you will receive a confirmation email showing the amendment. If you do not receive a summary once you have requested a change, please email us to request one. The same applies for cancellations.
If you have booked through Booking.com, Expedia.com, Wotif.com, Agoda.com, Hotels.com or other similar sites, please contact them directly to cancel a booking. However we DO NOT REFUND any bookings made on these sites. We encourage you to take out travel insurance as it is quite common for Queenstown flights to be redirected or cancelled due to bad weather. If for some reason we do agree to refund your online payment, a charge of $20 will be charged for refunds made.
DID YOU KNOW?
All motel/hotel online booking sites charge the advertised property a commission for every booking that goes through them. Hence not all properties list all of their rooms on these sites so if you are struggling to find a room, try going directly to the motel property's website. Also be aware that cancellation policies differ between each property listed online and payment setups are different as well. All bookings made with us via these websites are NON-REFUNDABLE. We take full payment for these bookings at time of booking and that full payment will not be refunded if your travel plans change and you need to cancel. So check the small print first before you book. Also check to see that you are getting the best price as it can be cheaper booking direct. We offer discounts for stays booked directly.
We have a strict NO SMOKING policy within the rooms. Smoking is permitted outside your unit on the patio. Ash trays are provided. Please be mindful of other guests as the smell of smoke is pretty awful for a non-smoker!!! Extra cleaning charges (at Management's discretion) may be added if smoke is detected in the rooms.
ACCIDENTS TO PROPERTY:
We understand accidents happen but charges may apply for any breakages or damage to our facilities.
CHILDREN UNDER 20 YEARS OLD MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT:
Due to previous bad experiences, children under 20 years of old must be accompanied by an adult. Proof of age will be required at time of check in
Disruptive and loud behaviour after 10 pm at night will not be tolerated. Feel free to ask other guests to keep it down, failing that - we shall call the noise police.
We are dog people ourselves and understand how hard it is to travel without your dog. But we unfortunately cannot allow PETS at the motel due to allergy sufferers. Mobility dogs are an exception to that rule! Please arrange with us.
